File Manager - Super User Mode

When I try to open the File Manager (Konqueror) in Super User mode, I enter my root password and then Konqueror opens up in file://root. But after 1 second or so it closes immediately. Trough the Root Console I found out that this error is given while trying to run konqueror in SU mode.

Quote:
[root@localhost html]# konqueror
mcop warning: user defined signal handler found for SIG_PIPE, overriding
/tmp/mcop-inferion is not owned by user
I added myself to the root usergroup in the user administration, but that didn't help a thing.

Please help this

Thanks in advance.

Hmm....Not sure about RH9, but there's a workaround that's worked okay for me in a couple of other distros-
log in as root, open the KDE Control Center, go to KDE Components>File Manager>Previews. Uncheck "file" in the list, log in as your normal user, and try it again.

Hope this helps. BTW, as far as I know, it's a bug - found this workaround on a mailing list somewhere. Seems to have been cured in later versions of KDE. Does'nt happen in Slack 9.1, anyway.
