Fedora problem with ATI Radeon driver installation

Hi all!

Can anybody explain me the meaning of the following error message?
Introduction: I have an ASUS A6000 series notebook with ATI Radeon X700 as video card. So, I got to install new drivers in order to see something in X-environments.

I tried with SuSE 10.0, and succeded. Due to other problems, I switched to Fedora Core 5. Unfortunately, while installing the drivers from the ATI site, what I get is this:

[root@localhost Drivers]# rpm -ivh fglrx_6_8_0-8.25.18-1.i386.rpm
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
1:fglrx_6_8_0 ########################################### [100%]
error: unpacking of archive failed on file /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod/libfglrx _ip.a.GCC3;44b0fed1: cpio: read
[root@localhost Drivers]#

(Please note that "Drivers" is just the directory where I copy my source drivers, don't be tricked by this...)

Thank you!

Looks more like a bad download. Did you check the md5 checksums?

Mmm... I don't think so... I used the very same package with SuSE 10, and it worked!

Try this. It works pretty well.
