partition problems

hi best thing to do is wipe both partitions and start again by installing windows fully im afraid. i tried the same thing with pc linux (red hat cousin of mandriva) when i got it. if your using KDE it can be temperamental so dont be too experimental when assigning linux partition sizes. leave it exactly half in half otherwise the linux partition may write over some of windows. any further problems and u should get ubuntu hardy heron and download parallels workstation from synaptic. this is a program that allows u to run 2 distros at the same both mandriva and ubuntu from portable hard drive whatever's your jolly

How is your disk partitioned (use "fdisk -l" on the linux side)? The XP rescue program may be looking for your XP partition is a specific location and hanging when it is not found.
