Question Fedora 11 and multimedia problem: mp3, mp4, xvid codecs and avermedia dvb-t

I'm new to a linux, but would like to explore it...

Everything works ok but multimedia sucks...
I'have tryed to play all of my multimedia files mp3, mp4, xvid, mp2 and it have missing codec. After trying to search for a codec if gives me this BS:

"Unfortunately, the codec you were searching for is not available in Fedora. A codec is a program that enables encoding and/or decoding of a data stream, in a specific format such as MP3, MOV, or WMV. There are a few common reasons why a codec might not be in Fedora's repositories:

* Many codecs are proprietary or patent encumbered.
* Some codecs may not be encumbered, but may be under an unacceptable license.
* It is possible that no one has packaged it yet. You might consider adding it to the Package WishList, or even packaging it yourself! "

Also another question is Avermedia USB Volar HX, Hybrid TV. Kaffeine finds one DVB-T channel, but it wouldn't display anything. Also MPlayer shows DVB-T, but say: Totem cannot play this type of media because you don't have appropriate plug in to play it.

You just need to download and install the appropriate codecs. Specifically, what type of file were you attempting to play when you got the error you mentioned?
