FC1 Java Runtime Environment Install

How do I get JRE to install on my box so I can use it with my browser? I downloaded the file and I thought I had installed it and everything, but when I goto a website that uses Java I just get errors saying that I'm missing a plugin. Any ideas?

BTW, I don't know if it'll help any, but I'm running Fedora Core 1, kernel 2.4.2115, Firefox web browser and i686 arch.

Thanks

Where did you install the file?

Did you enable java in your firefox's settings?

Sorry about that. I just tried the whole process over again and it seems to have worked. I think the only thing I didn't do was like fng_#1 said, create a link in my Firefox plugin directory. Thanks for your help.
