You might need to add irqpoll to 'APPEND' parameter during bootup.

or just type bt irqpoll

IIRC

Backtrack 3 is SO OLD that it might not even boot on new hardware

The CURRENT version is Backtrack 5

also backtrack WAS NEVER meant to be used by an inexperienced user

it ASSUMES that you know networks inside and out ( that you HAVE A LOT OF EXPERIENCE )
you dream of NETWORKS and testing there security

it was designed FOR CRACKING into networks ( ones that YOU have a legal right to)

please see the backtrack website
http://www.backtrack-linux.org/backt...ack-5-release/
and the ABOUT
http://www.backtrack-linux.org/about/

Just type 'irqpoll' on Backtrack menu. When menu comes up, highlight a menu and then press TAB to enter editing mode. Put 'irqpoll' on 'APPEND' line. You will see other lines there.

Or just type 'bt irqpoll', on booting prompt.
