I am having a bit of trouble with my install of opensuse 11.1, in the dolphin file manager's places tab I am seeing links to the NTFS partitions on my hard drives that I haven't instructed suse to mount. I understand I can hide these links by right clicking and selecting hide, but I want to remove them completely, particularly as some of the partitions shown are actually partitions on the individual disks of a raid array, so going to these directly would be very bad. If I try and click any of the links I get an error message along the lines of

"An error occurred while accessing 'Data Backup', the system responded: org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.PermissionDeniedByPolicy: org.freedesktop.hal.storage.mount-fixed auth_admin_keep_always <--(action, result)"

I didn't even tell opensuse to mount these partitions when I installed it, so why has it even created the links?

Edit the file /etc/fstab. Comment out the lines that include those partitions.

Thanks, but that hasn't helped since there aren't any entries in fstab for those partitions since they aren't mounted (sorry perhaps I didn't make clear that they weren't actually mounted in addition to the fact I didn't specify a mount point), which is why I don't understand why they even show up. Is there some other configuration file that is controlling this behaviour?
