edit windows boot ini to allow booting to lilo

is there a way to alter the XP boot.ini to show where lilo is so i can just turn on my machine and choose linux or XP.

the 2 os's are on different hard drives on different IDE channels.
one is standard IDE the other is SATA RAID (XP).
since linux refuses to make a boot floppy which i have no clue why.. is this solution a possibility ?

if not i am left to reboot into the bios everytime i want to run linux and then change the boot order to the linux hard drive first.

I just did this with Win2k and Grub this afternoon. If you are interested

http://www.geocities.com/epark/linux...w2k-HOWTO.html look at the Dual Boot System.

This puts Linux on the boot menu of boot.ini and I have had no problems with it. He mentions a similar process for lilo but I cannot get to that page..

I would assume that you simly look at your lilo.conf file instead of the mentioned grub.conf. I created and mnt point and copied the linux.bin file straight to my c drive.

Hope it helps,
JC
