Unhappy DWL-122 and Redhat 7.3 - I need my internet

This is my first go at Linux, so bear with me. Have always wanted to try and finally have my reason when a friend gave me an old laptop. Linux on laptop suggested this distro and it seem to work the best (have installed a few) Now to my problem.

Have read through many HOWTO's on this subject but for some reason am not getting it. Have unpack and installed a number of different packages without success. Was hoping to start a thread so some of you nice intelligent folks out there can baby step me through this process. Just finished a fresh install of 7.3.

Any takers for this newer than Newbie?

Thanks in advance.

I need to compile a new kernel and install the linux-wlan-ng driver but I am not exactly sure on what to download and how to install it. I have followed many differnet instructions but have been unsucessful in compiling a new kernel
