dual distro failure

Hi,
I have dl the upgrade Kubuntu 11.10 and installed it without a snag, but the gui is strewn with bugs and and soon freezes streight after the pasword panel. (-And it wont let me load the failsafe mode)

Now my Ubuntu issue of 9.10 even crashes or freezes in live mode.

Can anyone give me advice please?

To make a good guess we need more information.

Did ubuntu 9.10 work before you tried to upgrade?

It would help if you could tell us where exactly it stops on the installation.

Some specs on your computer and monitor would help also.

Do you have any os working on it now?
