Question Dual boot linux Mint - Windows 8

Hi Everyone. I'm vixa and i'm new on this forum. I bought a new computer "ASUS vivobook" with Win8 installed. But i want to install Linux for dual booting, as you know it's impossible. Help me to do so or help me to kill my win if necessary.

THANKS ALL

Which distribution of Linux?
You need to check in the BIOS to see if you have an option to disable Secure Boot and/or enable Legacy Boot.

I want to install Linux Mint 15. In the BIOS i desabled the "secure boot" and when i launched the boot from the DVD drive, the screen stayed black during hours and hours. I tried also to boot from a USB stick, but it was the same. Even i tried the dual boot with Win7 it doesn't work. I also followed this step: Setup/Change PC setup/General/Advanced setup-Restart now/ . . .
Nothing happened.

Hmmm..i was able to install mint14x64 on a i5-xxx with SecureBoot enabled, mint14 has EFI & SecureBoot support (Windows8 didn't even boot with SecureBoot disabled). Mint15x64 release notes say: "EFI support..If your system is using secureBoot, turn it off.". So perhaps you should try mint14. A tip: you really don't need windows 8 ;-) linux has it all :-) just install vmware player with a XpPro machine for the app's that only work in windows...
Grtz..
