Dual boot, linux MBR on floppy question?

I am dual booting 2k/Man9.2
i have family using the computer too.

I am wondering if I install linux and tell it to make a boot disk during the install... does that wirte to the MBR on the disk then or is it more of a rescue disk idea?
There by, if the disk is in I get Lilo boot choices etc.. .. with it out you get 'standard' windows boot?

The question is not clear .... But what i understood from the written... is that when u installed linux it asked u about the option that installl in MBR or on the first partition...if it's so ... you could have given MBR.... it just install the bootloader on the MBR and gives you option to boot either linux or windows.... try doing that ... or the present set up will make u boot linux from the floppy.... and directly to the windows partition...
