Does Iphone work in a windows VM

greetings

I know iphones are notorious and unpredictable when it comes to using it in linux. Before I buy an iphone do they work well using virtualbox's usb device filter and would windows recognize the device connected in that manner?

thanks

I can't say for certain about new iDevices but I know my generation 1 iPad works fine with iTunes in a virtual XP instance in VirtualBox using USB and wireless with my PC attached through a cable and the virtual adaptor in bridged mode.
If you want to be able to charge an iPhone from your PC you may need ipad-charge (I don't recall if it is just for iPads, despite the name I'd not take that as read).
