Running Mandrake 9.0 system hangs at shutdown at syncing hardware clock to system time. How do i disable it? it syncs at start up ok (had to bodge a bit there but got it working). TIA
Jerry.
I'm afraid I don't use Mandrake however I do know that some OSs do not sync the time properly if the times are completely different. Try replacing your CMOS battery then set the time in the BIOS. After you reboot make sure the software time is consistant then try a shutdown.
Thanks, David, for the suggestion. The CMOS battery is pretty new (about 4 months) and I don't _think_ that's the problem. I'll try it and report back monday after i've done it.
still i'll check BIOS settings and see if there's something there... hadn't really thought much of the BIOS until you mentioned it. I'll check it on next shutdown and see.
