diff in && ; ;; commands ?


what is the difference in &&, ;, and ;; commands? example:

make && make install
make; make install
cd /tmp; ls
cd /tmp;; ls

etc.

&& is a boolean (logical) and

Code:
ls file && cat file
this runs ls on the file, and if ls is successful - meaning it found a file, then
cat executes.

; makes an end of line
Code:
ls; ls; ls; ls
execute the ls command four times
