Diff between HVM and PVM machines.


I just wanted to know the difference between Hardware virtualised machine and Paravirtual machines.

Is Paravirtual machines= Hardware Virtualised machines+ para virtual drivers.

HVM - Hardware Virtual Machine - Uses VT-x/AMD-V features of the CPU (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardware_virtual_machine)

PVM - Parallel Virtual machine - Doesn't use the VT-x/AMD-V features, and predominately uses the kernel for virtualisation. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PVM)
