Diablo 2 error "unable to save uninstall data"


hi, when installing diablo i get this error. its right after the license agreement to begin the installation. i can't find much information on this either, do i need to change something in winecfg?

well i've got the game installed under wine but the game won't start from the disc or an iso. it tells me to make sure the disc is in the drive. could someone please help me? this is driving me nuts.

Do you have more than one drive? If so, many games will give this error if you use a different drive to load the game than the one it was installed with.

i've got a few drives, i installed from an iso on my F drive. the .wine/system.reg points here too. i've tried changing the reg to point to my cdrom drive to.
