If you mean the software from here:
http://www.eawag.ch/forschung/siam/s...order/index_EN
I suggest you fill in the order form and read the manual when it arrives. Then, when you know which Linux distributions the manual refers to you can look to their websites for help. If you then run into problems you can ask here and i am sure people will help you.

Welcome to LQ.

Aquasim for ns-2.30, post # 8 here ..
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...asim-855532/#8

Fedora 18, ns2 prerequisites : # yum install \
gcc-c++ compat-gcc-34-c++ automake autoconf libtool patch libXmu-devel

Note : A 32bits Fedora should be preferred.
A 64bits OS will create an 'ns' with reduced functionality.

Like post # 8 here
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...asim-855532/#8

1) tar xvf ns-allinone-2.30.tar.gz
2) cd ns-allinone-2.30/ && tar xvf Aqua-sim_ns230.no-test.tar.bz2
3) export CC=gcc34 CXX=g++34 && ./install

P.S. : For ns-allinone-2.30.tar.gz : Google will find the package :
Type ns-allinone-2.30.tar.gz, and you have it.

please read and study the install instructions

Read The "bleep" Manual ( RTFM )

the fedora install instructions ARE on the fedora site
but if you can not be bothered to find them
http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/index.html
--- the install guide ---
http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/...ide/index.html

Linux is not windows
you need to learn how to use the operating system ( just like you had to learn how to use MS windows )

# 10 : Please edit your posts. Bold writing is not appreciated.
Makes the text less readable.

Installing Aquasim. See posts # 5 and # 7.

Fedora 13 is old and unsupported. Please don't use it. Install Fedora 17 (or 18).
Then your internet issue may be solved ?

# 10.

There is actually a version of ns-2.30 with included Aquasim
... from "Aquasim" http://obinet.engr.uconn.edu/wiki/index.php/Aqua-Sim
>>> Aqua-Sim-1.0 Release http://ubinet.engr.uconn.edu/aqua_pa...ua-Sim-1.0.tgz

The install is : 1) tar xvf Aqua-Sim-1.0.tgz
2) cd Aqua-Sim-1.0/
3) export CC=gcc34 CXX=g++34
4) ./install

# 10.

The third option : You don't have to build Aquasim.
Now there is an rpm package for Fedora 13 .. 18 (and for CentOS 6)

Package, aquasim-ns-2.30-1.el6.i686.rpm
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7S2...it?usp=sharing
... providing /usr/local/bin/ns-aqua

Can be installed with : 1) cd Downloads/
2) su <enter-password>
3) yum install aquasim-ns-2.30-1.el6.i686.rpm

The examples in ns-2.30/underwatersensor/uw_tcl/, please do :
$ ns-aqua hop_by_hop_VBF_example.tcl
etc. etc.

# 14 : I guess you mean the same "source code package" as mentioned in #12.
( It's the same URL.)

The package aquasim-ns-2.30-1.el6.i686.rpm is a binary package, 3.5 MB,
.. like any other application you can install with 'yum'.

rpm -ql aquasim-ns
/usr/local/bin/ns-aqua
/usr/local/lib/Aquasim/bin/tclsh8.4
.
/usr/local/lib/Aquasim/lib/libtcl8*
.
.
.
