demudi(debian) sound and graphic problem
Hi everybody...
I've just installed demudi... it's agnola's debian based music station...
I'm a completely newbie and wanna switch to linux with only one purpose - to make electronic music with it.
So i ran into some problems after install:
My sondcard is not working....it's well detected by alsa and jack (audigy1) but no sound except loads of static noise coming out of subwoofer (i'm using 5.1 speakers). I read somwhere here that it may be that digital output is on.... and for y speakers i need to analog outputs... but where to change this?
Anyway i would be glad if i could only get my sound working on headphones... not to bother with 5.1
The second problem is that i can't change the refresh rate from default and only option of 60Hz... and i think X is running in 16bit depth...how can i change it to 32bit? do i need to install any drivers? And as i see there's no acceleration...the windows are moving around very slow.... I have geforce4 ti4400 and i tried installing nvidia drivers from their webpage but i read instuctions and i don't know how to do it... the command they wrote...like make install just don't work and i get message like: no command or something... maybe i'm just not downloading the right archives.... what kind of them demudi uses? tar? rpm? or?
my configuration is: athlon xp 1800+, asus a7v333, 256ddr, maxtor 120gb and 40gb, asus geforce4 ti 4400, audigy1, asus rw, samsung 753s etc.
