Debian Potato XF86Config not working

I have a fresh installation of Debian Potato on an IBM MCA machine (8590).

The included documentation on the installation CD says that in order to conplete the X configuration, simply type "anXious" from a command line and it will take me to a configuration menu.

This does not happen. Can anyone point me to some documentation that will explain this phenomena?
