Debian 11 : Allow any user to mount a cifs share

Hello

From what I am reading in Debian 11, non root users are not allowed to mount shares.

I added this in my /etc/fstab

//192.168.3.222/share/folder /mnt/folder cifs user,noauto 0 0

But it still does not work.

Any tips?

man mount and check mount options
Code:
   Non-superuser mounts
       Normally, only the superuser can mount filesystems. However, when fstab contains the user option on a line, anybody can mount the corresponding filesystem.

If this is verbatim then you need to add the credentials file to the options. Use the same options from your other thread but add user.

also would be nice to post the exact error message instead of telling us "But it still does not work".
