CygWin - SetUp log looks like it failed --- Tried again ...

Had another go, after deleting C:/Cywin folder.

This time I used the Defaults in the Setup-x86_64.exe process.

Everything seems ok ... copy of the Setup.log is attached.

There are still some comments like ...
2016/11/13 20:52:43 Starting cygwin install, version 2.876
2016/11/13 20:52:43 User has backup/restore rights
2016/11/13 20:52:43 io_stream_cygfile: fopen(/etc/setup/setup.rc) failed 2 No such file or directory
2016/11/13 20:52:43 Current Directory: C:\OC
2016/11/13 20:52:43 Could not open service McShield for query, start and stop. McAfee may not be installed, or we don't have access.

What do I have to do now ?
The aim is to install and run gnuCOBOL

hoping someone can advise me.

cheers

to install Cygwin on windows
use the gui installer
and you REALLY will want to read the instructions on the website
https://www.cygwin.com/

install instructions
https://cygwin.com/install.html

also KEEP IN MIND!!!!!!
very important!!!
do not use any blank spaces in folder names or install locations

DO NOT install to "Program Files"

but there is a windows build zip
https://sourceforge.net/projects/ope...gnu-cobol/2.0/

the source should build in Mingw and make a windows exe and windows dll's ( using dlltool)

Not clear if you were referring to Cygwin or gnuCOBOL ?

CygWin - SetUp log looks like it failed --- Working, but ...

Seems to be working …
except that the Terminal is using Bash commands.

Recently spent long hours refreshing my MS-DOS experience.
From what was said in other forums, I was expecting the updated Mintty to be used.

What to do now ??? ….
Somehow change things with the command line instructions ?
Delete it all and start the Setup again from the Command Line (with variables) ?

Would be happy with advice, if practical help not possible.

Cheers.

======================= ========================== ====

Tried to get another Directory listing output, but Bash does not seem to like tree.
Getting a list but no line-feeds included (just a messy word-wrapped .txt file).
