courier imap setup

Does any one have a good clean cut explianation on how to setup courier imap? I'm have a hard time getting through all the documentation and making sense of it. What I'm trying to do is setup squrriel mail which uses imap. It looks like courier-imap is about the best solution. But again I'm having a hard time getting courier installed and running. I'm setting it up on a box running mandrake 9.2.

Any help would be greatly apperciated.

Thanks
