I am in the process of updating my system, I merrily bought a new hard-drive, and downloaded the six ISO's the distro - Fedora 6 if it matters.
Did the check sums with sha1sum, they all agreed with the originals.
Burned the CD's, and started the instalation. At the media check stage three of the six CD's are reported as bad - discs 2,3 and 5.
Go back and burn those three again, at half the speed. Start installation again, the three re-burned discs are all bad again.
Download disc 2, burn it for the third time. At installation this last version of disc 2 is still bad.
Questions
:
Is it possible for the download to be corrupted if the check sums are fine? If yes, about how often would it happen?
Should I get a fresh supply of blanks and keep burning?
Any ideas?
If I have such bad luck with CD's will I be lucky in love?
