Connecting to home wireless system

I just got an Asus netbook and am trying to connect it to our home wireless system. I have the SSID entered, and the wireless security password, but don't know what the wireless editing page is asking for with "BSSID" and "MAC address." Any ideas? Thanks!

What vender manufactures your wifi router/access point?

Do you have mac address filtering enabled on your router,? If so you would need to add the mac address of your ASUS Netbook to the allowed mac address list of your router or access point.

You can find the mac address of the access point on the under said of the unit. As for locating the mac address of your asus ASUS can du either one of the the following Commands.

Open up a command prompt and issue the following command
or navigate to
Start>> all programs >> accessories >> system tools
Code:
ipconfig /all

For most *nix distributions you would issue the following command
Code:
ifconfig

It would also help out allot if you could please mention the distribution you ar using.
