Did you confirm if your LG Cookie was really recognized as a modem and it is running on ttyUSB0? dmesg command and lsusb command may give some help.
If you don't know how read their output, paste here so we can help.

OK,

I just ran a command on my terminal:
dmesg |grep tty

And then I found this answer together with a couple other
[24898.296782] usb 1-1: GSM modem (1-port) converter now attached to ttyUSB0
[24898.297513] usb 1-1: GSM modem (1-port) converter now attached to ttyUSB1

This means my 3G modem was found.
