"other end could be any hardware firewall." Well, what if this remote has a security system that linux doesn't support?

Hi,
Actually There is a Site to Site VPN connected to our network, and now i want to make alternate solution to make it stable as our firewall has become old and need to replace, we don't want to pay so much for that but we required security and VPN connection to our sites as well.

and really i don't know what is requirement for Site to Site VPN in Linux.

Thank You
