complete newbie looking for answers


ok, where can i find out general information about how linux works without spending $60 on a for-dummies book thats full of bad jokes? i know very few commands, the assumption of the basics in tutorials is killing me.

The Linux Documentation Project and RUTE are good start points.

I also liked the LinuxCommand.org tutorial and the Linux Cookbook.

If you're on Debian, the Debian Desktop Survival Guide also looks great to me.
