Compatability issue

I am a greenhorn here and also to linux. Taking a course in Cyber Security which requires some knowledge of Linux.

I have a USB with Linux workstation (Desktop) 20.04 and one for Linux Server. We have a few Windows 10 computers at home.

Can I install the Workstation (desktop) side by side with Windows 10? Is it easy or procedures needed prior? What about Linux Server?

I also am getting a Linux for Dummies book.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated?

Yes, you can dual boot either server or workstation versions. A web search for dual boot Windows 10 linux will turn up many resources.

Rather than dual-booting, you might take a look at setting up virtual machines running under Windows 10 and running the Linux distros in the VMs. This article will give you a good introduction to what's involved. There are a number of virtualizers available, but VirtualBox is excellent for home use.

If your Windows machine has enough RAM, you might even be able to run both Linux VMs at the same time. And RAM is cheap these days.

Generally speaking, yes, you can.
From "20.04" I gather you mean Ubuntu? I recommend looking at their help pages on how to do that.

The server thing requires more info from you.
