you could log in via SSH
Code:
man ssh
then mount the drive
Code:
man mount
then cd to the mount point
Code:
man cd
May be a simpler answer, this is simple except needing to run SSH service on the host

Follow what ethics has said. A oneliner for all is,

ssh username@localhost mount /cdrom ; ls -l /cdrom/

Not enough information provided.
What OS is running on the PC that you want to share the CD drive?
What OS are the other computers on the network running?
What do you really mean by view contents?

Michaelk was right, i assumed it was Linux but since it is, follow my post above, it gives you distinct steps, well, before the 3 steps google setting up SSH
