Unhappy Checksum Error- Help!

I had finally moved all of my applications to an external Hard Drive so I could have enough room on my internal to do a partition. When I put RHEL 4 disk in it started to install and I received an error CPIO: Bad Magic. I ran a check on the disk and said I needed to run Check Sum. How do I do this? Could it be that I have a bad memory inside of my computer. I then made a copy of CD 1, rebooted my computer, but it did not work. Can someone please help????

id guess that the CD is corrupted. Did you download the image yourself, did you check the checksum of the image?
