changing a game sub folder to use in linux mint. newest version

I'm have been playing sins of a solar empire rebellion for a number of yrs. on windows.really getting tired of ads or buy me I keep getting hit with.also windows crashes or slow downs. So now I'm moving to linux with the goal of losing windows all together.
My problem comes about when I start the game and menu opens.I go into options/mods.there is a link that will show mod pathway.
(c/users/steamuser/My Documents/My Games/Ironclad Games/Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion/Mods-Rebellion v1.85.).this a windows link.my question is how I can change or fool mod command to a copy of my documents in steam folder.(I
copied and pasted from win.10.)
I'm really new to this,so any help is much appreciated.
