Question cannot boot RH5


cannot boot red hat it keeps showing this:

INIT: Id "1" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes.
INIT: Id "2" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes.
INIT: Id "3" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes.
INIT: Id "4" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes.
INIT: Id "5" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes.
INIT: Id "6" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes.

i have no idea what wrong here.. did i install it wrong?

Have you altered /etc/inittab? This happens when mingetty or login are screwed up somehow, I think.

If you just installed, I would try re-installing. If you installed a little while ago and this just started happening, something strange happened.

i've re-installed it a couple of times, but it has the same error
