I'm trying to install xchat 2.04 from source but the ./configure says glib is not found. I tryed to install it but I need some help. I think I have it but it's call something else.

what is the error you get when you are installing xchat? what distro are you using? and what is the file you think you have?

Sorry about that. I'm usually more precise. I'm using mandrake 9.1. I getting the following error while doing ./configure;

checking for GLIB - version >= 2.0.3... no
*** Could not run GLIB test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the
*** exact error that occurred. This usually means GLIB is incorrectly installed.
configure: error: "Cannot find glib"


I remember trying to install something else a while ago and it linked glib to another name. I can't remember exactly. I've reinstalled mandrake a few times sence.
