can i pretend to have a bigger resolution???

'ello 'ello 'ello

I am trying to use DVDrip on mandrake 10. it all seems to work but the most important buttons (RIP!) are at the bottom of the window, off-screen, and DVDrip doesn't seem to allow me to minimize at all. Ergo I cannot rip!

A few years ago when I briefly tried Redhat I had trouble configuring X, and consequently kicker was hidden below the viewable screen area, but scrolling downwards with the mouse revealed the lower region. Is there any way of turning this function on in Mandrake? (ie the desktop had, for example, a 3000x2000 pixel space for my actual 1024x768 monitor, and scrlling with the mouse revealed the hidden space)

I would try Drip instead but it wants me to uninstall half of my apps (bloody Jasper incompatibilities), and life's too short...

Help would be much appreciated and the DVDrip site is down (protest against those evil patents - sure they'll happen in Mammon, but surely not Europe?!?!?!?!?!?!?!)

(I apologise in advance to any patriotic Americans for that last quip - my tongue was partially in cheek!)

I'm not sure why you don't get those buttons to show but why not try acid rip:

Nice one!!!

Cheers for the tip, I have seen it on the PLF sites but the info only mentioned the CD side of it all.

And!!!... their website is probably the first Linux website that that doesn't look like it was made during the Boer war

Good stuff
