can't upload large files with vsftpd ~help

Greetings,

I just have this problem. Using redhat 4.

I can upload anything but this one really big zip file (30mb).

I can create/delete/download/upload , everything works great but this particular file.

I've tried configuring/re-configuring the vsftpd.conf in about 50 different ways all to the same conclusion...

When the upload hits 20000000 bytes transfered it drops the connection like a hot potatoe. No errors logged or given other then "consult your administrator" ...

I guess this leads me to believe it's not something in vsftpd it's something with redhat?

Any Ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

thank you

Is this related to only vsftpd? What I mean is, can you create a 100mb file in the home directory of the ftp account? How did you install vsftpd (ie. rpm or source?). I usually compile mine from source and so I don't recall vsftpd having a file size limit parameter. However, I have seen vsftpd with different options when it is installed via rpm. But still, it shouldn't crap out like that when a file is that small.

Try installing it by source and see what happens.

#1, as far as I know, vsftpd does not copy files. It's a server. What client are you using to copy the file? That would appear to be where the problem lies.

#2, what's in this file? Could there be some kind of copy protected file in there?

This assumes that it is an ftp problem, and not something like, the receiving directory lacks sufficient free space to hold the file. If that's the problem, and your client didn't tell you, you need a different client.

That's the problem ...
cp: writing <myfile>: No space left on device

Now it seems I have much more troubles

My next question would be how can I solve this problem. What are some commands so I can check/edit my disk space?

Thanks for the input. I just couldn't believe I was out of space and it had to be vsftpd...
