Question Can't start session at kubuntu9+9+

hi, me again

Don't pay attention to 9+9+, was a misstyping

This is the deal. I installed kubuntu yesterday. Now when it prompts the start session screen, I write the user and password, click enter and then starts loading a new screen. It shows an hdd draw, and starts loading some other images, and all of a sudden it prompts me again at the start session screen.

żAny ideas what may cause this?

Intel Celeron 2,13 GHz at ASROCK P4VM800 motherboard
1,18 GB RAM

Thanks a lot

Hi, check that you still have space on your root partition. I once spent a couple of days of strugglign before I found out that my root partition is full.

Hi,

i checked the space and seems ok. I have three partitions, the first is like 24% of usage, the other two like 1%.

First is root, 12 GB
second is swap, 2 GB
third is home, 26 GB

I also tried #10 of this link http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...9110#msg159110 but with no results

Ok, more digging is needed...

look into ~/.xsession-errors file for any indication about what might be wrong. (if you can't make head nor tails of it, delete it, try logging in and post it somewhere and link it here). You might also try to create a new user and log in with it (just a diagnostic user).
