Hi there, I seem to be having problems plugging in my External hard drive to my lappy runnin ubuntu 12.04. It was all fine till 10 mins ago when I restarted the machine and plugged it in. I now get this message http://antobbo.webspace.virginmedia....s_tests/HH.png
Can anybody help me with it please? what should I do?
thanks
NTFS? Plug it into a Windows machine, then unmount it properly (do not just unplug it), then plug it back into Linux and it should work. Remember to always unmount your external drives before unplugging them.
Done that, I am afraid it didn't work. I restarted my machine in windows, plug the external HD in and then unmounted properly. The restarted ubuntu plugged it in and the message showed up again. ANy other advice?
thanks
1st start by fallowing the directions in the error you were so kind to post a SS for us to read. If that does not work, then report back so we can go further into troubleshooting.
