Unhappy booting process halted at " looking for cd in : /dev/hdb "

I downloaded live cd linux from Knoppix. After booting it
named my two hds as a and b and the cdrw drive as hdd and
enabled dma acceleration for them. After that it started
looking for cd in : /dev/hdb and hanged there only. my hd b
is empty.What should I do?

Try linux ide=nodma as a boot option for the LiveCD

Are you using Knoppix 5 by any chance? See this: http://www.knoppix.net/forum/viewtop...692&highlight=

and there is also a report of the same (or very similar bug) for 3.8 here: http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Bugs/3.8.1
