Booting Linux from OS/2

I have an old IBM PS/1 (386) with Slackware 3.4 installed and kernel 2.4.18, and I'm all set to go. Problem is, I can't seem to boot to it. On my 80 MB HD I have a 16 MB swap and the rest is ext2, labeled as bootable. I have LILO in the MBR, and my PS/1 has a broken floppy that can't be replaced. Still, it just loads OS/2 and I get the stupid Quadscreen. I guess it's loaded into ROM. Here's my question: how can I boot into Linux instead of OS/2? Boot disks are out of the question.
