BiTorrent Downloads -- fails

I am trying to download the 4.0.2 DVD of Knoppix using BitTorrent. I have BitTorrent installed. I have used both rpm -qa to show the program I downloaded and installed using rpm -Uvh was actually installed as well as using rpm -ql BitTorrent to list all the modules. Looks like they are there.

I have set up my router for Linux just as I had it set up for Windows. Different address in the router because they are different machines, but all else is the same. I previously installed the windows bittorrent program and double clicked the download torrent file and it ran immediately.

In Linux I have issued the following commands as user and not as root or su -

[xxxxxx@localhost ~]$ cd bittorrent
[xxxxxx@localhost bittorrent]$ ls
BitTorrent-4.0.4-1.noarch.rpm KNOPPIX_V4.0DVD-2005-08-16-EN.torrent
KNOPPIX_V4.0.2DVD-2005-09-23-EN.torrent
[xxxxxx@localhost bittorrent]$ btdownloadcurses.py KNOPPIX_V4.0.2DVD-2005-09-23- EN.torrent
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/btdownloadcurses.py", line 25, in ?
from BitTorrent.download import Feedback, Multitorrent
ImportError: No module named BitTorrent.download
[xxxxxx@localhost bittorrent]$ btdownloadgui.py
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/btdownloadgui.py", line 33, in ?
from BitTorrent import configfile
ImportError: No module named BitTorrent
[xxxxxx@localhost bittorrent]$ btdownloadgui.py KNOPPIX_V4.0.2DVD-2005-09-23-EN.torrent
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/btdownloadgui.py", line 33, in ?
from BitTorrent import configfile
ImportError: No module named BitTorrent
[xxxxxx@localhost bittorrent]$

Any ideas why this module BitTorrent.download is not present?

I have searched this forum and other sites for an answer and did find one thread here, but no answer was given to the problem.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I downloaded the Knoppix 4.0.2 DVD version using Windows and the BitTorrent program. It installed correctly and when the torrent file was double-clicked the process started. 14 hours later I had the files. The Linux version is still having problems finding the missing module. I've got a lovely new DVD burner in the Linux computer going to waste, but it will be able to read the Knoppix DVD when I decide to boot the system using Knoppix.

I decided to try this again from the top. I uninstalled BitTorrent 4.0.4-1 and then installed it using rpm -Uvh. I immediately ran a yum update and it installed the GUI front end. At this very moment I am downloading the CD version of Knoppix 4.0.2 on my Linux machine which I will write with my new Samsung DVD/CD burner using K3b. If that works, I will download the DVD version. If all goes well it will make my day.

Small <RANT>. Yum update during the update process decided that my RealPlayer needed to be replaced with HelixPlayer. Despite the obvious fact that RealPlayer begins with a capital r and HelixPlayer begins with a capital h, it replaced it and I didn't notice it before I agreed to the updates. HelixPlayer can't play some formats that RealPlayer can. I use those formats. I uninstalled HelixPlayer and reinstalled RealPlayer. I then copied the appropriate files to the appropriate plugin directories. I also found a parameter for yum that will let me exclude HelixPlayer (RealPlayer?) from being updated i.e. --exclude=HelixPlayer. Computers are fun!!!
