Best Anti-spam and Anti-virus application?

I have just set up sendmail on my Linux 9 server. I'm planning to install an anti-spam software and an anti-virus application to work with my sendmail.

Any recommendation appreciated!

ps.. don't forget to protect yourself against hackers, and don't work behind your system as 'root'. These things very important to know!
