BBC on Totem


Just installed Ubuntu 8.10 and tried to use Totem to get onto the BBC but it won't connect is this because I don't live in the UK

don't know what you're trying to access via totem - just about evrything is on iplayer now. but anyway, that's right. you can try using an open uk based proxy, or maybe these feeds for radio will bypass the geoip stuff. http://www.radiofeeds.co.uk/wmp.asp

In Ubuntu 8.10 a link has been setup to the BBC, but I believe it will only work if live in the until BBC international becomes available.

It's already installed in Totem if you have Ubuntu 8.10

Ahh right, yeah I see it. so yes you'd need to set a UK proxy or such like in order to get the feeds working.
