awk command to multipy $(field) by numerical constant?

Hi.

Can anyone help me out with the syntax in awkto multiply a field read from a data file by a numerical constant. The field itself holds decimal numbers.

for example:

awk ' {print $1*10, $2*100, $3*100 } ' data_file *** correct syntax? ***

where data file holds three columns of numerical data.

Hi,

The syntax shown works (on Solaris, don't have a linux box around atm).
