If YaST doesn't provide the fglrx drivers, download them from ATI's site. You will need to do some configuration and manual work, but searching Google for how you install them, you should be fine; I just managed to install the ATI drivers for a mobile radeon 1800-something card, and after some struggling managed to get DRI enabled, so it's not impossible, just a bit difficult at times..

Check ATI's site, but I think the fglrx driver covers your card if it's newer than ATI Radeon 8500, which is pretty old by now. After the installation you may have some problems, but after configuring X and tweaking some things (like loading dri and a few other modules, making sure that Compiz isn't enabled since DRI doesn't work with it - at least if you're using ATI's cards, ...) you should be ok. I installed the drivers I mentioned earlier for a Kubuntu 6.10 box, by downloading the "official" driver package from ATI's site and using it to create distribution specific packages, and by installing them.
