asterisk error


am trying to install asterisk on feodra 8 and i get this error.


yum install asterisk
96e93602a5bec3ff590d9f207 100% |=========================| 11 MB 00:40
http://mirror.pnl.gov/fedora/linux/d...ry.sqlite.bz2: [Errno -3] Error performing checksum
Trying other mirror.

The first question is why are you using Fedora 8?

It is old and outdated - and unsupported.

That error is indicative of a broken package within the repository.
