Any way to automatically assign permissions??

I'm running Debian 4.0r0 and right now i'm running vsftpd and apache2. I was wondering if I can somehow make all files in a directory automatically have certain permissions.

I have a directory with http access with a user and password through apache2. I want files that are uploaded with the ftp user from vsftpd to have the "read" permission for "others"

Thanks,

I'm not sure, but you might need to modify the following option in vsftpd.conf.

Quote:
file_open_mode

The permissions with which uploaded files are created. Umasks are applied on top of this value. You may wish to change to 0777 if you want uploaded files to be executable.

Default: 0666

thanks,

I got it working,

local_umask=002
file_open_mode=0777

now the default permissions for ftp user are:
directory:drwxrwxr-x
files:-rwxrwxr-x

Thanks,
