About the installation of awstats

I follow the below URL to install awstats .

Code:
http://thelinuxfaq.com/90-how-to-install-and-configure-awstats-in-centos-fedora-rhel
everything seems works fine , the second last step works fine.
Code:
From data in log file "/var/log/httpd/access_log"...
Phase 1 : First bypass old records, searching new record...
Searching new records from beginning of log file...
Phase 2 : Now process new records (Flush history on disk after 20000 hosts)...
Jumped lines in file: 0
Parsed lines in file: 77
 Found 0 dropped records,
 Found 0 comments,
 Found 0 blank records,
 Found 0 corrupted records,
 Found 0 old records,
 Found 77 new qualified records.
then I tried the below URL , it shows nothing , would advise what is the possible reason ? how can I do the trouble shooting ? thanks
Code:
http://mydomain.com/awstats/awstats.pl?config=mydomain.com

I tried to create awstats directory in DocumentRoot ,

then re-try , it pops the error , would advise what is the possible reason ? thanks

Code:
Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /awstats/ on this server.

You should not need to create a directory for awstats within DocRoot. The call to awstat should happen through the CGICall within the config of apache.
Did you recheck the tutorial? And see if all the files are where they belong?

Please provide the apache configuration file for the awstats from apache.

Dont know much about CentOS so no clue about install tutorials. But a search for centos awstats provides a lot of hits.

Maybe we should just troubleshoot the installtion. Please provide your apache config.
