about file system


Hi, I am new to Linux; I want to know more about ext2 and ext3 file system can any one give links which are easy to understand and is all distributions use only these types of file system?.Is any other file system that can be used in linux?

There are dozens of filesystems available for Linux; ext3 is currently the most common. Wikipedia has good articles on ext2, ext3 and ext4.

Post if you have specific questions.
