a summary about yum command


i need a summary for yum command usage which include most used properties. i am now reading the regular tutorials but it is too much detailed and i cant memorize it. (centos 6.2 server)

The man page for yum includes quite a bit of detail, and yum -h will give you a digest of the options that are available as well.


Is there something more specific that you are having trouble with regarding yum?

i dont have any trouble. i am understanding everything. but i just need a one or two page yum command tutorial summary. thats all.

We have been answering your question. The man pages and yum -h provide the information that you need.


Unless you are having a specific issue or problem with yum.

You are asking for a 1-2 page summary of how to use yum. That is exactly what the yum man page is.
You also asked for the most commonly used commands, I provided those in my first post, if you want more details on them look at their entries in the man page.
